Conducting Elections

The County Clerk is responsible for conducting all elections including Primary, General and Special elections. The County Clerk is also responsible for all the various aspects of elections including registering and purging voter rolls, providing election forms and election results.

Record Keeping

It is the responsibility of the county clerk to issue, register, record, and keep various county records including legal and land records. Legal records and delinquent property taxes can be viewed at the Meade County Courthouse. Land records can be viewed there as well or online through the ecclix.com system.

Motor Vehicles

 Motor vehicle licensing is the most widely used service of the County Clerk’s office. Various motor vehicle forms can be downloaded from this web site for your convenience. Additional information may be found at Drive.ky.gov

For our office to complete end of day transactions and reconcile we have had to temporarily change our office hours. Important Election Dates

Last day to register for Primary Election: April 22 at 4:00PM

Mail-In Absentee Ballot – April 6 – May 7, 2024
Saturday, April 6 – Online mail-in absentee request portal to open
(45 days before the election).
Tuesday, May 7 – online mail-in absentee request portal to close
(14 days before the election) at 11:59PM

Ballots for the May 2024 Primary may be returned by mail, or to the secure drop box located outside the Meade County Courthouse during normal business hours of 8:30AM-4:30PM, Monday-Friday. Ballots must be received in the clerk’s office by May 21, 2024 at 6:00PM.

In-Person Excused Absentee – May 8-10 and 13-15, 2024, 8:30AM-4:30PM in County Clerk’s Office

3 Day Early Voting – May 16-18, 2024, 8:30AM-4:30PM in County Clerk’s Office

Election Day – Tuesday May 21, 2024. Polls open 6:00AM-6:00PM.
